Uzuri Kikoy!

That's quite an unusual blog title, isn't it? :)

I first heard about Kikoys when my pal Micaela posted them on Facebook. She took a trip to Kenya and there begins the story :)...

Kikoys incorporates all the colour and beauty that Kenya itself has to offer;  ranging from reds as bold as Maasai warriors  to stunning elephant greys - Uzuri Kikoys are 100% cotton, dyed, woven & hand knotted on the Kenyan coast where they originate from.

Micaela says; "Having clambered over hundreds of bales of colourful cloth through the dusty back rooms of Mombasa's old town, we know we did our best to find Kikoys bound to bring a little African joy and warmth to anyone during the coming cold winter months."

These ideal Christmas gifts can be worn as sarongs or scarves or brighten up your home as throws......just to name a few uses!

The girls are currently giving an INTRODUCTORY OFFER: £20 each or 2 for £30! All you have to do is message them - you can do this on their Facebook page

Oh - and, if you do purchase a Kikoy, you can be sure you're doing some good - the girls behind these beautiful garments say;

"It seems a shame not everyone living where these Kikoys are made can enjoy their beautiful colours - especially when this is due to a cause of blindness which can be treated. Which is why £1 for every kikoy sold will go to Eyes for East Africa. Eyes for East Africa is operates in a poor rural district in Kenya where it has carried out 22,851 sight-restoring cataract operations to date."

Cute, versatile AND for a good cause? Yes please!
